How It Started

Hello lovely readers, a warm welcome to my blog! I’m Souritra Banerjee, the founder & chief editor of this blog. Like most Indians, I am a die-hard cricket fan and I make it a point to watch every game India plays. I also like to watch other matches of other countries like Australia, South Africa etc. I like to watch good cricket matches. And from the three formats of the game, I like the conventional Test Cricket most. A B. Tech graduate and working in an IT MNC, I am from the City of Joy.

My obsession with cricket started during my childhood days when I used to spend time with my grandfather. He was a Cricket-crazy person and loved this sport from the core of his heart. At that time we don’t have any cable line connection on our television, so we used to listen to radio commentary together whenever India played a game. Gradually Cricket became my passion. But being from a middle-class typical Bengali family, I didn’t get much opportunity to play this game or choose it as a profession or to connect with this game actively for various reasons. Although Bengal Tiger and ex Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly is my inspiration like most Bengalis from my school-days. I love his attitude, Dada-giri and how he came back every time against all the odds. The day when India lost the final match against Australia in World Cup 2003, I cried and similarly it was a great day for me when MS Dhoni lifted the World Cup on 2nd April 2011.

Cricket is my passion and that’s why at last I’ve decided to start a new journey on the end of 2017 with the blog-writing on Cricket to accomplish my passion somehow! This Front Foot Blog has been on my wishlist for more than a year but I could never come up enough courage to launch it, This Front Foot blog is all about Cricket, basically a Cricket Analysis or Discussion blog. I will write about various Cricketing topics, Cricket analysis stories and also some interesting past famous Cricketing-battles’ stories, Cricketing controversies, and gossips in this blog! If you want to read about some specific Cricket-topic from me, please ping me on my email or comment on my blog-post/social media; I will definitely write about that.

[In the late 2018, some more members joined with me in this blog and we made a FRONT FOOT team. You can see about them in the "Team Members" page.]

I think everyone should love Sports. After all, sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose-it teaches you about Life. Sports teaches you to understand the meaning of a team. You need to be able to work with everybody; you don’t have to be their best friend. You can experience the fun of competition and driving toward a common goal without pushing to bond in some major way with each individual on a project.

If you like cricket, you should visit the stories of this page/blog. But if you love Cricket, then you must visit this page regularly. I hope you will like the articles.
